Volkswagen has officially unveiled their new engine line-up at the Vienna Motor Symposium. The first one is a 3-cylinder, 1.0 liter engine that was designed to deliver 272 horsepower and 270 Nm peak of torque.
The Germans have managed to deliver such amount of power thanks to a monoscroll turbocharger and an e-booster system.
The second engine that was reveled in Vienna was a new 6.0 TSI W12. This unit will become the most economical twelve-cylinder engine in the luxury car segment and comes with start-stop and with cylinder deactivation technology.
More than that, the engine also combines the Audi FSI direct injection and Bentley TMPI multi-point injection together with an optimized intake system. In order to reduce the vibrations, the engine has electromagnetic actuators.
As a result, the new W12 can deliver 608 horsepower and 900 Nm peak of torque. In addition, the guys from Volkswagen have revealed that the oil circuit is suitable for off-road use which suggest it can be used in the upcoming Bentley Bentayga.
