Opel has officially unveiled the all-new 2016 Astra K. The new generation of Astra will be showcased during the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show and comes with an evolutionary design.
According to Opel, the new Astra has 120 kg to 200 kg less than the previous generation thanks to a completely new architecture. The body shell is 20% lighter and the used of high-strength and ultra-high-strength low-weight steels has generated a 50 kg lose in the chassis.
Even though the new 2016 Opel Astra is 5 cm shorter and has a 2 cm shorter wheelbase, Opel says the new model will offer an extra 35 mm of legroom/ More than that, the new Astra will get the IntelliLux LED matrix headlights while inside the cabin, customers will be able to connect their smartphones via Apple CarPlay or Android Auto.
Thanks to an 8 inch display the infotainment is now friendlier and is able to offer a Wi-Fi hotspot. In addition, the new 2016 Opel Astra will become the first model offered with OnStar personal connectivity and service assistance.

Under the hood, the new 2016 Astra will come with a 1.0 liter Ecotec engine rated at 105 horsepower, with a new 1.4 Ecotec unit rated at 145 HP and 250 Nm and with the 1.6 CDTi diesel motor that can offer 95 HP.
