The 2013 Chevrolet Corvette 427 is built to represent the 60th anniversary of the incredible iconic Corvette. Chevrolet has just built the most powerful convertible Corvette ever with many parts including the 7.0 liter engine coming from the Z06 Corvette. For the 60th anniversary the performance team at Chevrolet has listened to its customer base with many of the options that the 2013 Chevrolet Corvette 427 will have at the ready to add on the car.
The convertible will roll off the line with Chevrolet’s popular Magnetic Ride Control, trunk mounted battery, 60th anniversary wheels, carbon fiber hood, carbon fiber fenders, carbon fiber floor panels as standard equipment. There are a host of add-ons for the Corvette including carbon fiber splitters, rocker panels, and carbon fiber interior accents for those in need of more carbon. Chevrolet claims that the light weight materials used have the 2013 Chevrolet Corvette 427 tipping the scales at 3,335lbs and that is only 135lbs more than the 2013 Z06 Corvette comes in at.
The heartbeat of the 2013 Chevrolet Corvette 427 comes from the great guys and gals at the GM performance build center in Michigan in the form of a LS-7 small block engine. The 427.7 cubic inch engine runs a dry sump and hi-flow heads and reaches a peak 505 horse power and is only mated to a 6 speed manual transmission.
The 2013 Chevrolet Corvette 427 has clocked in with 0-60 numbers falling in at 3.8 seconds and a top speed of 190 mph. The car has unbelievable braking power thanks to the massive carbon ceramic brakes on all four corners. For a special treat the GM performance build center will allow the new owner, for a price, to come in and hand build that beautiful LS-7 with a master engine builder and then that engine will be dropped in your 2013 Chevrolet Corvette 427.
