California based firm, Yahoo has made a new attempt to offer a digital experience for the users of touch based Smartphones. Yahoo Screen is a video application, being the first one from the company provides an ease of accessing various videos on their Smartphones.
Users can browse through various available video categories with this app, which is currently made available to users of iOS based devices only. With an initial availability of the new app, Yahoo Screen only for iPhone & iPad users, Yahoo has revealed its plans for the development of this application for devices running on Android OS as well.
Features of the app
The Yahoo Screen allows users to glance through various clips in trend, make a search for a particular show and the availability of several gesture based controls for navigational purposes. Users can swipe right and left to skip between different episodes and the up & down swiping manner provides an option to flip through different channels.
The developer firm stated that their motive behind the Yahoo Screen app is for the recreation of the feel of surfing TV channels on a mobile device. All the navigation controls are provided on the left side of the screen that can be used for scrolling through channels, accessing the sidebar for accessing other apps from the company and for tapping the search bar.

During the launch, the Yahoo Screen app featured some prominent videos including the content from The Onion, ABC News, GQ and many more. Along with the launch, Yahoo announced its partnership with the Viacom, through which best shows of The Comedy Central like The Colbert Report, The Daily Show and others are also offered. The firm also announced that with various comedy shows available, users are free to access comedy shows of more than 1000 hours timing with the new Yahoo Screen app.
