Sony recently introduced Android powered Xperia Z smartphone that packs some really power specifications, great design, and notable features. Now it looks like Sony is gearing up well for the year 2013 as it has unveiled the the Xperia Z Tablet which will be released soon.
The new Sony Xperia Z tablet has many good features but its most important one is its thinness at 6.9mm that makes it the thinnest 10-inch tablet available in the market today. Xperia Z tablet is even thinner than the iPad mini that packs a smaller display. Xperia Z tablet features 10.1-inch display with a resolution of 1920 x 1200 pixels.
Sony Xperia Z tablet has a Qualcomm 1.5GHz quad-core APQ8064 processor, 2GB RAM, 32GB internal memory and microSD card slot, 8.1-megapixel camera, LTE, NFC, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and more. It sports a 6,000mAh battery which is quite impressive and will give it a good battery life.
Just like the Xperia Z smartphone the Xperia Z tablet also features the waterproof and dust proof build. It looks like Sony is making that feature as standard, at least in its high end tablet and smartphone models. This improves device’s durability and keeps it safe in unwanted circumstances. Apart from being the thinnest 10-incher this is going to be the first tablet to be dust and waterproof.
Xperia Z Tablet weighs 495 grams. It runs Google’s Android Jelly Bean software. Details about its availability and pricing are unknown at this point.
Overall Xperia Z is a solid tablet and a worthy competitor to current market leaders. Now lets see if Sony decides to release a smaller version of the Xperia tablet to compete with the likes of iPad mini, Nexus 7 and others.
