Apart from smartphones, tablets and notebooks, new gaming consoles are the hottest addition in the US market for these holidays. With Sony & Microsoft launching new gaming consoles this season, here is a review for the Xbox One ‘Day One’ Edition to help you decide, whether to buy it or wait.
Huge Form Factor
With minimization being the hottest trend in the gadget market, Microsoft planned something different. The new Xbox is a huge console, being larger by 35% than Xbox 360, 60% than Sony PS4 and 32X than the Apple TV, without the power brick. Following incompatibility of 360 & One console, you need to put both huge consoles to meet your gaming desires.
Voice & Visuals
As compared to the 360, the Xbox One ‘Day One’ Edition offered a detailed and better quality of visuals and voice. But considering the gap of 8 years between these two launches, the improvements weren’t up to the expectations.
Selection of Games
With a recent introduction and incompatibility with the 360 games, the Xbox One isn’t offered with a huge range of games, where only 22 were available on the list. As compared to the 8-year reign of the 360 console, Xbox One ‘Day One’ Edition will take time to build up such an inventory.
With a number of advancements to the TVs made by Microsoft, the new console only offers limited TV control options, that too, when the STB is placed close to the console. You won’t be able to hide the ugly STB, if you wish to control your TV through the Xbox One ‘Day One’ Edition console.
Being a new launch, the price of the new console is kept much higher than its predecessor, which is expected to reduce with time, making Xbox One ‘Day One’ Edition easily affordable.
While, a number of drawbacks might prevent you from buying the Xbox One ‘Day One’ Edition, while it doesn’t mean that this console has no future. Microsoft is anticipated to address these issues soon.
