Mercedes has unveiled today the brand-new Mercedes-AMG C 63 and C 63 S. The new performance German model is now available in both sedan and estate version.
Under the bonnet of the Mercedes-AMG C 63 is the M 177 engine. We are talking about a V8 4.0 liter bi-turbo unit rated at 476 horsepower and 650 Nm available between the 1.750 and 4.500 rpm. The Mercedes-AMG C 63 S comes with the same unit, but this time it can offer 510 horsepower and 700 Nm ready to be deployed between the same rpm range.
As a result, the sedan C 63 can sprint from not to 100 km/h in 4.1 seconds with the estate being 0.1 second slower, while the C 63 S doing the same run in 4.0 seconds (4.1 seconds for the estate). All versions of the new German performance model have an electronically limited top speed.
According to Mercedes, the new C 63 has a mechanical differential, while the C 63 S comes with an electronic rear locking differential. For better dynamics, the German models are using the AMS Ride Control while the engine management is controlled by the AMG SpeedShift MCT seven speed transmission.
On the outside, the German performance cars are coming with new spoilers, special side skirts, a rear wing and new wheels.
According to Mercedes-Benz, the new AMG C 63 is already available in the Edition 1 version. It can be ordered only with the C 63 S version and has a special body color, new 19 inch alloy wheels, blacked chromed exhaust pipes and special accessories inside the cabin.
