LG Optimus G: Everything you need to know

LG Optimus G smartphone is undoubtedly the most powerful smartphone LG has produced up to this date. We recently told you that this particular smartphone might become part of Google’s upcoming Nexus lineup of devices in the US, that will definitely add LG optimus G to the list of one of the most important smartphones available in the market. So because this phone carries so match importance in the world of smartphones we decided to take a closer look at this Android powered device and see what features does it has that make it a worthy competitor for today’s leading devices. Let’s get started.

To be fair, LG Optimus G isn’t the most beautiful device available in the market today in my opinion but that does not mean it is not good. The phone looks simple and elegant, with some design similarities with LG Prada and LG Chocolate models of the past. It features a gorgeous 4.7-inch display that makes it stand out when held in hand. Optimus G carries a height of 131.9mm and width of 68.9mm. The device is 8.45mm thick which makes it thicker than many phones of its caliber, but given its huge screen and monstrous internal specs this thickness is bearable. It weighs 145grams. LG Optimus G comes in two colors that include black and white.

As I have already mentioned earlier in the article, Optimus G features monstrous specs that are comparable to many of its competitors and are better than most high end smartphones available today. It features a Quad-Core 1.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor that is accompanied by 2048MB of RAM. Optimus G has a 4.7-inch IPS display that carries a resolution of 1280×768 pixels or 318 ppi. The phone features a 32GB of internal memory that unfortunately is not expandable. LG Optimus G sports a 2100mAh battery that provides an impressive 15 hours talk time and 335 hours of stand by.

LG Optimus G features a nice 13-megapixel rear camera with LED Flash which is capable of recording 1920×1080 (1080p HD) videos. The phone also features a 1.3-megapixel front camera for video calling and taking self portraits. Features of LG Optimus G camera include Auto focus, Face detection, Smile detection, Exposure compensation, ISO control, White balance presets, Burst mode, Digital zoom, Geo tagging, Panorama, Scenes, Effects, and Voice activation.

Other than the great features already mentioned above LG Optimus G features LTE network support, A-GPS, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, microUSB slot, NFC chip, and more.

Overall LG Optimus G is a solid device with mind blowing specs and great design. If you are looking for an Android powered smartphone that is both powerful and sexy looking, this phone is a sensible choice. Because not only it features the best specifications but it also runs the latest version of Android that is Android (4.0.4).
