Audi has officially unveiled the 2015 Q7 model. The new flagship model from Ingolstadt is lighter and smaller than the older one but it can offer bigger interior space.
According to Audi, the new Q7 has a weight of 1995 kilograms with 325 kilograms less than the previous generation and can offer an additional 41 mm front and 23 mm rear of headroom.
On the outside we see the Audi Singleframe grille with the new headlights, while at the back the taillights and the spoiler is dominating the view.
Inside the cabin, Audi has installed the new Virtual Cockpit and the new MMI infotainment system. In addition, the car has integrated the Google Android Auto and Apple CarPlay support. Last but not least is the infotainment area for the rear seat passengers. They can choose one or two 10.1 inch display tablets with high-end specifics.
Last, but not least is the audio system. For the low-entry versions is a Bose system, while the high-end variants will get the 23 speakers Bang & Olufsen audio system.
Under the hood, the new Audi Q7 will feature two 3.0 liter V6 engines. The first one is a diesel which can deliver 272 horsepower and 600 Nm peak of torque. It can return 5.7 liters of diesel on 100 km and 149 grams of CO2 per km. The run from 0 to 100 km/h is done in 63 seconds. The second engine is a TFSI and can offer 333 horsepower and 440 Nm peak of torque. As a result, the car can achieve 7.7 liters per 100 km and 179 grams of CO2 per kilometer with a 0 to 100 km/h run in 6.1 seconds.
Later, Audi will also introduce a Q7 e-tron quattro. This one combines the diesel V6 with a 94 kW electric engine for a total of 373 HP and 700 Nm peak of torque. The fuel consumption announced will be clocked at 1.7 liters per 100 km with CO2 emissions of 50 grams per km.
