After a full year of rumors and speculations Apple has finally announced the new iPhone 5, that the company claims is the biggest thing to happen to it’s popular smartphone lineup since it was first launch back in 2007. The new iPhone 5 features spectacular features and design that makes it a must have for all current and new iPhone users. iPhone 5 features a new thin design that is both different and similar to the older iPhone 4S at the same time. The look of the device is somewhat similar, but it is extremely thin and has only a depth of 6.6mm. At this thickness iPhone 5 is one of the slimmest smartphones available in the market today. Apple has made big changes to it’s latest flagship smartphone’s specs, features, and design wise.

iPhone 5 features a 4-inch display that has a resolution of 1136×640 pixels. The larger screen provides users with a better experience, but as the screen hasn’t been made broader than the previous models, users won’t find it difficult to use it with one hand unlike some Android devices that feature screens so big that make it becomes impossible for users to interact with their phone using a single hand. As I have already mentioned, iPhone 5 features monstrous internal specs and is powered by a new A6 chip that is expected to have Quad-Core internals. The device is also expected to feature 1GB of RAM, however these details are not confirmed as they are not made publicly available by Apple yet.

The camera on the new iPhone 5 is 8-megapixel and takes still shots at 3264×2448 resolution, while it is capable of recording video at 1080p. Apple has also added a new panorama feature to the Camera app that allows users to take 360 degree panoramic shots from their iPhone. Apple has added a 1.2-megapixel front camera that enables users to Facetime with their friends in HD mode and also record videos of 720 quality. Both front and rear cameras feature Face detection feature for better picture quality.

iPhone 5 is 4.87-inches in height, 2.31-inches in width, 0.30-inch in depth, and weighs 112grams only. It features LTE capability that will allow users to enjoy fast browsing and downloading speeds over their cellular networks. iPhone 5 features a new 9-pin dock connector that is 80 percent smaller in size than the previous charging/data port.

Other features of iPhone 5 include GPS, Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi 802.11a/b/g/n, and more. Just like the iPhone 4S, iPhone 5 is availble in two colors including black & slate, and white & silver.

iPhone 5 has become available for pre-order on September 14 and will be shipped on September 21. Currently it is available in countries including countries including US, UK, Canada, Australia, Japan, Hong Kong, Singapore, Germany, and France. It costs $199, $299 and $399 for 16GB, 32GB, and 64GB models respectively.
