This company is going to make another mark in the world of online shopping with its newly developed automated drones providing air delivery, known as Amazon Prime Air drones. These drones are expected to change the shape of online marketing, allowing e-retailers to save a huge amount on shipping charges and hence, offer a better service alongside making more profit. Amazon is anticipated to put a full-stop on the world of physical retail stores by revealing its latest innovation, the Amazon Prime Air drones.
Delivery Service Offered
These flying machines are likely to change the future of online shopping with their remarkable features like fast delivery of goods. The chief executive of Amazon, Jeff Bezos referred these machines as ‘octocopters’ or ‘electric drones’. These Amazon Prime Air drones are revealed to reduce the delivery time to 30 minutes, where the maximum weight carried by these drones is limited. Considering the size and other capabilities of these drones, Bezos states that they are capable of carrying a weight of about 5 pounds for a round trip extending up to a distance of 10 miles. These stats account for the delivery of approximately 86% of the items delivered by Amazon through the use of these Amazon Prime Air drones.
Although these drones are expected to shut down all the physical stores with their faster delivery service, but the FAA (Federal Aviation Administration) hasn’t provided a legal approval for this yet. So, Amazon has to wait at least till 2015 to be able to use Amazon Prime Air drones on a legal basis.
With the innovation of Amazon Prime Air drones, online shopping is expected to get more hike in popularity leading to the end of physical stores.
