Land Rover has officially unveiled the 2015 Land Rover Discovery Sport. As you already know, the British compact SUV was inspired by the Discovery Vision Concept and the familiar design was heavily influenced by the Range Rover Evoque.
On the outside we see a slender two-bar grille, LED fog lights, a special C-pillar, an acoustic laminated windshield and front / rear skid plates. Furthermore, the high end versions will get xenon headlights and LED DRLs.
Inside the cabin, customers of the 2015 Land Rover Discovery Sport will find a multi-function steering wheel, gloss black and metallic trim. Furthermore we see an infotainment system which works with an 8 inch display.
According to the British car manufacturer, the second row can be split in 60/40 and it can recline and slide rearward by up to 6.3 inches to provide more rear legroom.
The engine lineup of the 2015 Land Rover Discovery Sport
In Europe, the 2015 Land Rover Discovery Sport will be available with a 2.2 liter SD4 turbodiesel engine that can deliver 190 horsepower and can be matted with a six speed manual transmission or with a nine speed automatic gearbox.
In the U.S., the 2015 Land Rover Discovery Sport will come with a turbocharged 2.0 liter engine rated at 240 horsepower and 338 Nm peak of torque. The engine will come paired to 9 speed automatic transmission and will feature all-wheel drive system.
Land Rover was coy on additional specifications but confirmed the model has a lightweight body shell that uses high-strength steel, ultra high-strength boron steel and aluminum. The hood, roof, front fenders and tailgate also constructed out of aluminum to reduce weight.
According to Land Rover officials, the new 2015 Land Rover Discovery Sport will be launched early next year in the U.S. and it will have a price tag of $37,995.
