BMW has officially revealed the all-new 2015 2-Series Convertible, the 1-Series successor which will be showcased during the Paris Motor Show.
On the outside, the German convertible model looks identical to the coupe and it will have a soft-top structure. According to BMW, it can be opened at speeds of up to 50 km/h in just 20 seconds. On the inside, the 2015 BMW 2-Series Convertible is identical to the 2-Series Coupe, the only thing new is the button that operates the retractable roof.
The new 2015 BMW 2-Series Convertible will be offered in 4 different versions. The first one is the 220i Convertible which comes with a 2.0 liter engine rated at 184 horsepower and 270 Nm peak of torque. The same engine can be found in the 228i Convertible, but this time it develops 245 horsepower and 350 Nm peak of torque. On the diesel side we have the 220d Convertible, an engine that can offer 190 horsepower and 400 Nm peak of torque.
Last, but not the least is the BMW M235i Convertible which features the 2.0 inline six cylinder engine rated at 326 horsepower and 450 Nm peak of torque. In this version, the German convertible can sprint from stand still to 100 km/h in just 5.2 seconds, or 5 seconds on the version equipped with the eight-speed automatic gearbox.
