Mercedes-Benz has officially revealed the brand-new 2014 C-Class Estate. The new German model is featuring an overall length of 4.702 millimeters, and it is 96 millimeters longer than the previous generation. Furthermore, the German car manufacturer says the new 2014 C-Class Estate has a wheelbase which now measures 2.840 mm.
As you expect, the front part of the C-Class Estate was borrowed from the sedan, while the new model is different from the B-pillars towards the back.
As a result, the rear legroom has increased by 45 millimeters while the additional 40 millimeters in the car’s width has boosted head, shoulder and elbow room.
The trunk capacity of the new 2014 Mercedes-Benz C-Class Estate has now 490 liters and 1.510 liters with the rear seats folded down. According to the Mercedes-Benz press release, the rear bench has now a 40/20/40-split configuration and boasts electrically-foldable backrests.
Despite growing in size, the new 2014 Mercedes-Benz C-Class Estate has lost 65 kilograms and can be ordered with the optional Airmatic air suspension with self-leveling function.
As you expect the engine lineup is carried over from the sedan and buyers can choose depending on the engine selection from rear-wheel drive or a 4MATIC all-wheel drive arrangement.
Petrol units vary in output from 156 horsepower to 333 horsepower while on the diesel side power ranges from 115 horsepower to 204 horsepower. There will also be two hybrid variants with 204 HP + 27 HP in the C300 BlueTEC HYBRID and 211 HP + 68 HP in the C350 BlueTEC HYBRID.
According to Mercedes-Benz, the 2014 C-Class Estate will be available on the market starting this September.
