McLaren has disclosed today the pricing and the full technical details of its new 650S supercar. Under the hood, the 2014 McLaren 650S has a 3.8 liter V8 engine rated at 650 horsepower.
Under these conditions, the British supercar can sprint from stand still to 100 km/h in just three seconds, while the run from 0 to 200 km/h is done in 8.4 seconds. More than that, the 2014 McLaren 650S is able to accelerate from stand still to 300 km/h in 25.4 seconds, before topping the 333 km/h.
McLaren mentions the 650S is one second quicker than the legendary F1 when it comes down to the 0-124 mph run while in the standing mile is 0.6 seconds quicker as it can do it in 10.5 seconds at 139 mph (224 km/h). In addition, the British supercar can return 11.7 liters per 100 kilometers with corresponding CO2 emissions of 275 grams per kilometer.
“Driving excitement is at the absolute heart of the McLaren 650S,” explains Mike Flewitt, Chief Executive Officer, McLaren Automotive. “Of course the performance figures are important, and they help boost excitement. But they’re only part of the story. This is a car that’s about feel as well as measurement”.
The 2014 McLaren 650S coupe will be priced at 195,250 GBP, while the convertible version will have a price tag of 215,250 GBP.
