Audi unveiled today the all-new 2014 Allroad Shooting Brake Concept. According to German officials, the new prototype is previewing the upcoming generation of the TT model.
“The show car combines sex appeal, highly efficient e-tron-quattro technology that produces 300 kW of power yet only consumes 1.9 l/100 km (123.80 US mpg) of fuel and cutting-edge electronic applications,” says Prof. Dr. Ulrich Hackenberg, Member of the Board of AUDI AG, Technical Development. “We are offering very concrete glimpses of the near future in this show car.”
With a wheelbase of 2.51 meters (8.23 ft), the show car – painted in Ice Blue – is 4.20 meters (13.78 ft) long, 1.85 meters (6.07 ft) wide and 1.41 meters (4.63 ft) tall.
The Audi Allroad Shooting Brake represents the first time that Audi has combined the allroad and e-tron form languages. As on every Audi, the large hexagonal single-frame grille dominates on the impressive sculptural front; it is slightly offset towards the rear of the body.
Under the hood of the 2014 Audi Allroad Shooting Brake Concept is a hybrid powertrain. It features a transverse mounted four cylinder 2.0 liter TFSI gasoline unit which can deliver 292 horsepower and 380 Nm peak of torque. The combustion engine is working along with an electric motor integrated within the all-new developed e-S tronic six-speed gearbox. It can deliver an extra 54 horsepower and 270 Nm peak of torque. In addition, the German engineers added a second electric engine. It is mounted on the rear axle and can offer 155 horsepower and 270 Nm peak of torque.
The total output of the 2014 Audi Allroad Shooting Brake Concept is rated at 408 horsepower and 650 Nm. As a result, the 2014 Audi Allroad Shooting Brake Concept can sprint from stand still to 100 km/h in 4.6 seconds while the top speed was electronically limited to 250 km/h. According to Audi, the new concept can offer a fuel consumption of 1.9 liters per 100 kilometers (123 mpg US or 148 mpg UK) with CO2 emissions of 45 grams per kilometer.
Inside the cockpit, the 2014 Audi Allroad Shooting Brake is featuring the all-new MMI infotainment system which was unveiled last week in Los Angeles at the Consumer Electronics Show. Furthermore, the German engineers also fitted the brand-new instrument panel also showcased in LA.
